RECIPE ROTI JOHN SIMPLE



ROTI JOHN

Roti John, essentially an omelette sandwich, is a popular Malay breakfast and snack item in Brunei and Malaysia . There are many versions for roti john. This roti john version uses either beef or chicken. You may drizzle plenty of chilli ketchup on top of the roti john, mayonaise and cheese.They Sold for $2.50 at pasar malam, roti john is also a common dish taken during the month of ramadhan.


·         Ingredients for Roti John:
  • 6 mini whole meal baguettes - halves
  • 250 gram minced beef OR minced chicken (brand BMC)
  • 1 large white onion - chopped
  • 1 teaspoon chicken curry powder
  • 1 tabs oyster sauce
  • 1/2 chicken cubes (brand  Knorr)
  • 3 eggs
  • chili sauce
  • cheese
  • mayonnaise
  • butter 
  • cooking oil
Method:
  1. Fry the minced beef and chopped onions, chicken curry powder, sos tiram and chicken cube.
  2. Place into the cavity of a baguette halved lengthwise with the sauce.
  3. Then briefly pan-fry the whole baguettes on the skillet by dipping into beaten egg and the spread mixture down.
  4. Flip to crisp the other side.
  5. Slice into several portions and serve.
